1. Upload the three (3) inspiration images to your Blog (or link to your
Photobucket account). Explain why you selected the inspiration
pieces.
I selected these inspiration pieces because they were very colorful. In my country of the Dominican Republic mask are typically very colorful. Color is the main element of art used.
2. Include the analysis and description (art criticism steps) of the three
(3) inspiration pieces.
All three pieces look as if they were happy or in a happy mood. They look as if they were going to a parade. The colors selected to b on the mask were very bright and attractive to the eye.
3. Upload images of your sketchs and finished piece.
4. Explain how you used the Elements and Principles in your finished
mask.
The main element I wanted to focused on was color. I wanted my mask to have colors that helped one another look better. All in the combination from each other. I created a piece inspired by Mama Tingo black women that is a character in the carnivals of my culture. I wanted to capture her face. She is a decedent of Africa and the Indians of DR. However, she is Dominican by hearth. She is however accustom to the traditions of the Europeans. She is a combination of the three races of the Dominican Republic.
5. Share your opinion of your finished mask and what you thought about
creating the mask.
I thought that creating a mask was going to be difficult. However, when I got inspired I took my roommates cereal boxes and created a mask. It was fun because I got to put a little of my culture in to it.
