Module 13 14 video blog

1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
The first video that I choose was Displaying Modern Art: The Tate Approach. This video at first seemed odd to me because it strange that someone would create a whole segment on how modern art is displayed. The video discuss a museum of modern art that was open in 2004. They said it was one of the most successful modern art museums in the world. The museum of modern art in New York city open in 1929 and is often refereed to as MOMA. In this museum was created the new form of displaying modern art. The director displayed the art in a chronological order. he also displayed the art on white walls with white lighting. guest would move in a straight path through the exhibits. he would place art related to each other or by the same artist in a room.artist in the museum would also place the residue of their art work. how their homes looked after they finish the work. Some art galleries became noisy after the noisy art work was placed. The next vodei talks about lowbrow that is an art form from the west coast of the united states. Each artist has a meaning to what is lowbrow to them. Artist Antony Aussang explains that this art is reactionary to highbrow culture. The definition of the word lowbrow is a person regarded as uncultivated and lacking in taste. At first the name lowbrow was use to describe the art work that had naked girls and cars and cartoons. however, the name stuck and that is one of the ways it originated from.  Lowbrow has evolved to having a meaning of its know and it now does not mean what it did originally; which was pornography. A lot of planes and cars had lowbrow art on them. A lot of the mechanics became part of the lowbrow culture. It was an art that people could relate to whether it was about the cars or the pin up girls. Pop culture and consumerism cultures were very influential in the development of the genre. many Artist would raw the thing that they had in their house. They would also draw what was going on in society at the time like they did with people going into the space and the moon.

2. Do the videos relate to the creation of your Art Exhibition project? If yes, explain how. If no, explain why not.
I think that only one of the videos relate to the creation of my art exhibit project. this was the first video that I talked about. The reason it relates because in the project we had to report on how the art exhibit was set up. I thought the teacher was just being stupid when she made us do this. However, After I saw the video i found out that a lot of work is put into finding out how an art work is going to be placed on an exhibit and how the audience are going to view it.
3. What is your opinion of the films? Do they add depth to understanding of the art concepts you practiced while creating your curation project?
Both films added depth and understanding to my about my projects. however, I did not like the film about art placement in an museum because it was boring. it did not make want to watch the whole entire film. however the one about lowbrow art was very good.
