Reflections of AED 200
1. What were you expectations for this course and where they met?
Going in to this course I really did not have any expectations of it because I registered for it on the last day. I was lucky to have gotten into the course. I just wanted to finish my art credits.
2. Now that you've been through this course, What is art? How would you define it now compared to your intial posting?
Now That I have been through the whole course I know that art is anything. Before in my answer to what was art i limited art to be something merely expressive. Now i know that it can be a lot more than that. Art can be revolutionary and inspiring. Like I said after this class I know art can really be anything,
3. Who was your favorite artist in your original posting and who is your favorite visual artist now? If there is a difference, why do you think so? If you have the same favorite artist, why do you think so?
Going in to the class my favorite artist was Frida Kahlo. Now that I am done with the class i have the same favorite artist Frida Kahlo. The reason she is is because with her self portrait she showed me more than who she was. She showed me her straggles and her fears. Not every artist can do such a thing.
4. Now that you've completed this course, how do you feel about taking an online course? Is your answer the same as it was in your first posting? How is it the same or different?
this i not my fis=rst online class at all. However, I could say that this was the first online class in which i actually learned something. The fact that is was huge amount of work due every week forced me to work harder and learn. Nonetheless, there were some week where work became too much. Other than that, i recommend that everyone takes this class online.
Project #5 Art Critism Article
1. Which projects did you review?
I reviewed Animals in Art by Travis Rodriguez.
2. Why did you select the Exhibit you critiqued?
The mere reason why i selected this art exhibit out of many was because of the theme. His theme was very different than the others. The animal theme was unique.
3. What challenges did you face in writing the critique article and how did you overcome them?
A challenge that I faced writing the article was actually starting to write it. I had a huge writer's block. The way I got over it was by introducing the article explaining project # 4 and what i liked about it.Then that gave me a beginning transition towards writing the article.
4. How do you feel about critiquing your peers work?
I felt really good critiquing my peers work because from the looks of it the person worked thar in making the exhibit. I am sure that with all the hard work put in the curator appreciates that someone is taking the time to view it.
5. Would you like to read the critique your peers wrote about your Art Curation Project?
I would love to read what some of my peers had to say about my article because it was something that took time to make. Having someone different than the teacher read it would make me feel like my time was more than worth it. It will also help me improve so that in the future I could do a better job.
6. On a scale of 1-10 how would you rate your finished article and why?
I think I would rate my article a nine because I was very honest and I tried to interpret the art work to the best of my abilities. I also connected my article to something we had learn previously in the class.
7. Did you enjoy working on this project?
I enjoy critiquing the exhibit more than making it because it is much easier to judge than to actually create a whole exhibit.

Video Review Blog
1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned
From the video that An Introduction to the Italian Renaissance I learn a lot about how the renaissance came about. I learn that when the roman empire was thriving there was a lot of art. The people had the freedom to create a lot of art. However, when the Barbadians attacked Rome many of the art was loosed with the culture. The video talks about Giorgio Vasari who was a man spent most of his time writing biographies of the famous artist of the renaissance time. After the Barbadians attacked artist were not allowed to use realistic ideas to show people. They were only allow to use flat religious figures. That was all until Giotto, he was the artist that brought back realism into the art world. He use a technique called perceptive in where he could make objects in the same flat surface look farther and closer apart. He used real models instead of flat religious figures and he took interest in painting nature. He also was one of the first artist to incorporate architecture into the artwork making it more realistic. He had a sense of three dimensional space that is commend now. The other video 'The Colonial Encounter: Views of Non-Western Art and Culture'I learn about the views of non western art. I learn about the 1900 Paris worlds fairs that ran for 8 months and was the biggest fair in the world. half of the whole fair was devoted to the French Imperialism and the other half to the nation's colonies. However, in one side it showed how there were many nationalism. the image of the colonies were not coherent or consistent. There was an image of the Dahome ambassador that show he was very culture and civilized man. However in the exhibits they show the Dahome people in a very violent way. They showcased them as being uncivilized people. They used these images as an excuse to colonized and materialized these African countries. The other countries were presented by architecture. However, the African countries were said to have no architecture and was displayed to people as art in the eyes of the french.
2. Do the videos relate to the creation of your Art Criticism project? If yes, explain how. If no, explain why not.
One of the videos really was related to the way we created our Art Criticism project because in our project we had to showcase artworks and in the second video i talked about it describes how the french were critiquing and displaying the African art.
3. What is your opinion of the films? Do they add depth to understanding of art criticism?
I really like the first video about the Renaissance because it was like a movie of a apprentice critiquing art. On the video the apprentice told Giorgio vasari that he did not understand how so many people liked Giotto's work. He described Giotto's art as very flat. At that moment he was being an art critique. However, Vasari quickly corrected him and told him that many important artist learned from the way Giotto painted. he later explained that it was Giotto that brought back nature and realism to the Roman art culture.

Module 13 14 video blog
1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
The first video that I choose was Displaying Modern Art: The Tate Approach. This video at first seemed odd to me because it strange that someone would create a whole segment on how modern art is displayed. The video discuss a museum of modern art that was open in 2004. They said it was one of the most successful modern art museums in the world. The museum of modern art in New York city open in 1929 and is often refereed to as MOMA. In this museum was created the new form of displaying modern art. The director displayed the art in a chronological order. he also displayed the art on white walls with white lighting. guest would move in a straight path through the exhibits. he would place art related to each other or by the same artist in a room.artist in the museum would also place the residue of their art work. how their homes looked after they finish the work. Some art galleries became noisy after the noisy art work was placed. The next vodei talks about lowbrow that is an art form from the west coast of the united states. Each artist has a meaning to what is lowbrow to them. Artist Antony Aussang explains that this art is reactionary to highbrow culture. The definition of the word lowbrow is a person regarded as uncultivated and lacking in taste. At first the name lowbrow was use to describe the art work that had naked girls and cars and cartoons. however, the name stuck and that is one of the ways it originated from. Lowbrow has evolved to having a meaning of its know and it now does not mean what it did originally; which was pornography. A lot of planes and cars had lowbrow art on them. A lot of the mechanics became part of the lowbrow culture. It was an art that people could relate to whether it was about the cars or the pin up girls. Pop culture and consumerism cultures were very influential in the development of the genre. many Artist would raw the thing that they had in their house. They would also draw what was going on in society at the time like they did with people going into the space and the moon.
2. Do the videos relate to the creation of your Art Exhibition project? If yes, explain how. If no, explain why not.
I think that only one of the videos relate to the creation of my art exhibit project. this was the first video that I talked about. The reason it relates because in the project we had to report on how the art exhibit was set up. I thought the teacher was just being stupid when she made us do this. However, After I saw the video i found out that a lot of work is put into finding out how an art work is going to be placed on an exhibit and how the audience are going to view it.
3. What is your opinion of the films? Do they add depth to understanding of the art concepts you practiced while creating your curation project?
Both films added depth and understanding to my about my projects. however, I did not like the film about art placement in an museum because it was boring. it did not make want to watch the whole entire film. however the one about lowbrow art was very good.

Burchfield Art Center Visit
Step 1: The Exhibition
1. What is the title of the exhibit?
well i was actually excited to come to Burchfield Penny because I had not been here in a long time. This means that by now they changed the exhibits. So because of that I went thorough all of them. However, the three that excited me the most were;
"Well Crafted: Roycroft Then and Now," "McCallum Tarry: Intersections," and "Iron Organism."
"McCallum Tarry: Intersections
Iron Organism
2. What is the theme of the exhibition?
The theme of Well Crafted: Roycroft Then and Now, is a juxtaposition between old and new arts and crafts. They were all together in a flow of objects. Some of them were furniture others were sculptures that were abstract in form.
The theme for McCallum Tarry: Intersections was mainly focused on marginalized members of our society and the issues and struggles that they have had to go through.
The theme for Iron Organism simply in honor and explanation to to Iron and its properties. This exhibit explained how important iron is as an art material.
Step 2: The Gallery
1. What type of lighting is used?
Fof the Well Crafted: Roycroft Then and Now the light was very dim but every piece since it stood on its own had a spot light. However, the spot light did not look like a regular spot light because it still gave me a very settle feeling. Like it was not on my face.
McCallum Tarry: Intersections
2. What colors are used on the walls?
For the first exhibit the color on the wall of the gallery was not noticeable. Since most of the art work was not on the wall. I did not notice the wall as much. In the second one the walls were bright and White. They had most of the art work on the wall. The last one I also did not pay attention to because there was a lot of art work in the middle of the transit space.
3. What materials are used in the interior architecture of the space?
The materials that were use were videos mostly. There were also Stands to elevate the work. In some there were glass screen protectors to protect the sculptures.
4. How is the movement of the viewer through the gallery space?
In the first one the movement was familiar because It was like walking through a home. A very expensive looking home. It had furniture and sculptures that made look like Some one's rich home.
In the second one the movement was like a passage or a journey because you first saw a scream with a video then you turn to your right. Then after you went right there were photograph almost like an old family album. There was also a room you could go into that showed a video a a pregnant women.
The last one was like walking in an obstacle course because there was last work on the floor and in the middle of the way. There was artwork hanging from the sealing as well.
Step 3: The Artwork
1. How are the artworks organized?
the art work in the second exhibit was organized in frames like it was photos hanging in some ones home. The other two the art work was placed in the middle as if they got there on their own.
.
2. How are the artrworks similar?
In the second exhibit the art work was very similar to each other because most of it was photographs
In the first one the art work was very similar because most of it was some type of furniture you would have in your home.
In the last one the art work was similar because it was made with the same material.
3. How are the artworks different?
In the first exhibit the art work was different from each other because each was a piece of furniture that was separated from each other.
In the third exhibit the art work was also different from each other because it had different colors and shapes. They were all different objects.
4. How are the artworks framed?
The art work in the second exhibit was framed on the wall because they were photographs.
In the other other exhibits the art work was on the middle passage. It was organized in islands.
5. How are the artworks identified and labeled?
All the art work in all three exhibit had a label on the side explaining its tittle and with what they were made.
6. What is the proximity of the artwork to each other?
The art work in the second exhibit the art work was very far from each other. In the other two the art work was close by in islands.
Peacock Box, Undated
By. Ann Perry Smith
Glazed Stone Work
Courtesy of the artist.
The principles and elements of art that were most clear to me in this art work was shape and form. Shape because of the very feminine looking piece on the art work and form because of the form of the whole piece and the little round pieces that stick out of it.
This art work reminds me of a peacock. It did before I read the name. It looks very animallistic but at the same time feminine. The artist was trying to capture the femininity and beauty of a peacock into an abstract sculpture.

here a see the picture of an African American girl. She is looking forward She does not have a smile on her face but a smirk The picture is very clear not abstract but it is a small blur line. It may not be visible in this picture because of quality but it was visible in the other pictures. It is almost like the picture is lost in it's self. The principle of art that this piece uses is shape in a way the shape of her head and her collar attracts my attention. The artist wanted the viewers to get lost into the eys and history of this little girl.
Data Visualization, 2011By. Mary newbaverPainted on Iron and BronzeCourtesy of the artist.
In this piece i see many different shape pieces. They are separated. They look like corals. That was what it reminded me off. The principle of art used here are shape and color. Shape because of all the different shaped pieces and color because all the color here complement each other in a way. They make each other stand out. The artist wanted the viewer to see how resourceful is the iron and bronze. How natural metal can look when we usually look at it in an unnatural form.

Module Eleven Video Review
1. Explain why you selected each of the TWO videos you choose from the
selection listed above.
The reason why choose the first video 'The Mystical North: Spanish Art from the 19th Century to the Present' was because it talked about Spanish art of the north. I wanted to learn more about Spain and its artist. I choose the second video Dance at The Maulin De la Galette because the name of the video was very inviting. When I clicked on the link the image shown in the video was the painting Dance at The Maulin The La Galette. That image invited me it attracted me.
2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
This video was rich in history of the art of northern Spain. The first thing I learn was that northern Spain is home to a lot of the world's most celebrated artist. This list includes but is not limited to Pablo Picasso, Antoni Gaudi, Miro, Dali, and Goya. In the video they talked about the Father of modern art which is considered to be Goya. In the video they explained how Goya use to paint in a very happy way when he worked for the Spanish crown. However, when he became ill he started painting in a dark way. He moved outside of Madrid and died not very long after. Before he died he painted the paintings called the Dark Paintings. His work was inspired by darkness and the belief that there is no God and no hope. Then they talked about another modern artist and architect called Antoni Gaudi. In opposition from Goya, Gaudi created his works and buildings by the strong Catholic belief in God and everything god. He created a cathedral that is being ruined by the Japanese investors that are coming change it. He also created the Private Quarter which to this day still has people living in it. The building has a very organic natural design that illustrates Gaudis abstract masterpieces inside and out. The video then talks about Pablo Picasso who was an artist that moved to Barcelona at age 14. In that city he had his first sexual experience which inspired much of his art in the future. Before he died he donated much of his art to the city in return to the experiences the city gave him. Even thought, his paintings were very rich in sexuality. They represented the Catholic belief of saints being seduced by demands. The second video talks about the secret story about two paintings both called Dance at The Moulin De La Galette. These paintings were sold in a very high prize. There is to version to the same painting one is big and the other is small. Historians do not know which of the two was completed first because both are mark with 1876. The small version of the painting has not been seen in public since a very long time because it is kept in a private gallery. The painting was painted by Pierre Auguste Renoir. The painting was inspired by a Sunday afternoon in the French countryside of Montmartre. He found Montmartre as an oasis after losing his home. The reason he liked this place d=so much was because he felt it was calm and village. Unlike, how the city of Paris was. He used the local people as models. The prostitutes of the bar became models in many of his paintings and his friends were also in the painting. The painting is very happy but it fails to illustrate the abuse and prostitution the women had to go through. The bar was use as a strategic place in the war later on.
2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
The videos were related to the text because it shows a lot of what we learned in the textbook. However, in the video is where I learn the most about art. The videos take the concept we learn on the textbook and they take it one e\step further.
3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?
The first film about the art of northern Spain was very helpful in teaching me about Spains art. In this video I learned more about modern art through the detailed description of Goya’s life. And Gaudi as well. In the second video it was very interesting to see the history and secrets behind one painting The Dance at the Moulin de la Galette. This painting has a very rich history and that is why is such a celebrated piece.

Art Making Materia; Week 10, Mask
1. Upload the three (3) inspiration images to your Blog (or link to your
Photobucket account). Explain why you selected the inspiration
pieces.
I selected these inspiration pieces because they were very colorful. In my country of the Dominican Republic mask are typically very colorful. Color is the main element of art used.
2. Include the analysis and description (art criticism steps) of the three (3) inspiration pieces.
All three pieces look as if they were happy or in a happy mood. They look as if they were going to a parade. The colors selected to b on the mask were very bright and attractive to the eye.
3. Upload images of your sketchs and finished piece.
4. Explain how you used the Elements and Principles in your finished mask.
The main element I wanted to focused on was color. I wanted my mask to have colors that helped one another look better. All in the combination from each other. I created a piece inspired by Mama Tingo black women that is a character in the carnivals of my culture. I wanted to capture her face. She is a decedent of Africa and the Indians of DR. However, she is Dominican by hearth. She is however accustom to the traditions of the Europeans. She is a combination of the three races of the Dominican Republic.
5. Share your opinion of your finished mask and what you thought about creating the mask.
I thought that creating a mask was going to be difficult. However, when I got inspired I took my roommates cereal boxes and created a mask. It was fun because I got to put a little of my culture in to it.

Video Review Module 10
1. Explain why you selected each of the TWO videos you choose from the
selection listed above.
I selected the Buddhism video because this is a religion and culture that I've always wanted to learn about. Growing up I saw small pieces of art from Buddhism about fat monks. I choose Hinduism after the Buddhism because I wanted to really see what was the difference between the two. I had always related them to be the same thing.
2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
In the first video I must point out that it was very difficult because to me this topic is hard to understand because it was something that I had never learned about. Something that was easy to understand was that Buddhism began in India. It was very interesting to find out that it began with an extraordinary man that was the son of a king, had a beautiful wife, a son, and many servants. He later went to the real world and found out that the world was not perfect. He saw disease, the waist of old people and the death. He later found a monk who helped him find the an wear to the question; is this all there is? The, he finally sat under a three under Bodh Gaya. When he awoke he saw the world in different eyes. From that the enlighten can and Buddhism was born. In the other video the journey began in Varanasi, India. I learned that it is the oldest inhabited city in the world and it was also where Hinduism was born. It is the holiest city for Hinduism. The river Ganges in Varanasi is a symbol for life, death, and rebirth. Hinduism does not have a founder, a prophet or system. It has many gods that act in the similar way Cristian saints act. They provide a window access to God. In this case Brahma. Al these Gods that the Hindu has provided its people the opportunity to illustrate them through their beautiful art. Unlike Christian, Hindu believes in reincarnation. Hindus can worship anywhere. Everything in Hinduism is believe to be symbolic. This Symbolism is represented by the architecture and art of the Hindu. Their Temple are very small. However they have many decorative art in detailed added to them. In Hindu they use stone and rocks to turn it into art Mother earth or Mother Ganges made herself into art in a rock. At the hearth of Hinduism, giving up earthly things is key. To die in Varanasi is the drem of all hindu because this will allaw them to break from the cylce of birth and reincarnation.
2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
The video related to readinf in the text because it gave a picture and story about all the things we learned in the text. In the video we got to see moving film about some of the architecture and arts that we got to learn about in the book. Such as the beautiful city of Varanasi.
3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?
the videos were really key in provided with depth and understandings about the topic at hand. this week the videos were more important than they ever were because they further explained a very difficult concept which is religion through art. Especially the art of these two cultures or religions Buddhism and Hinduism. These are two concepts that are very difficult to explain by just Reading about it on a textbook.
Art Making Materials Week 9
using my had as subject art was interesting because it showed me that anything can become an art work.
I selected pencil because it was the more acceptable and easy choice.
creating a picture with my other had was crazy because i cant even write with my other had.
I dont think they were succesful because they were not looking like my hands.
I would not use my non dominant had unless i doing something very abstract.

Module Eight: Video Review
1. Explain why you selected each of the three videos you choose from the selection listed above.
The reason i selected to watch "The Measure of All Things: Greek Art and the Human Figure," was because ever since I learned about Greek myths in high school I always had an attraction for Greek art. This is because their mythology, their scandalous gods, and their culture was revealed through their art. The tittle of this video attracted me to watching it. The reason I decided to watch the video "Cairo Museum" was because like the Greeks the Egyptians are also a very exotic and mystical place to learned about. My logic in picking this video was that through the Cairo museum I was going to learn more about Egyptian past culture.
2. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
From the video "The Measure of All Things: Greek Art and the Human Figure," I learned a lot about Greek art that I did not know about before. One of the things that I learned about ancient Greek culture that is very similar to our modern culture is that the Greeks took their physical image very seriously. They really enjoy going to the gym and also were obsessed with their bodies. This addiction was very illustrated in their art, sculptures in particular. in their sculptures you can see the Greek obsession with the human body because they created it in such majestic detail. Something else that i learned from this video was about the Cycladic sculptures of the 5th century. What was interesting about these sculptures was that they were a silent proof and evidence of a time in history that there is no written record of. The sculptures of this century represent fertility because of the lines on the stomach of the figures. The Greek sculptures of the sixth century were very detailed and showed a 3D figure that had motion. the pottery that was discover also shows the ancient Greek way of life. There are not much paintings of the ancient Greeks. In the second video "Cairo Museum" i learned a lot of things about the museum in Cairo. This museum is amazing it holds 160,000 relics and artifacts inside it, Which are all exclusively from Egypt's past. What is amazing is that only half of these objects is showed in the museum because the other half is on the basement. The basement of the museum is like a modern tomb that holds all the treasures of the past. When, people that are in charge of making new collections in the museum it is a challenge to find relics in the basement. The basement contains relics and object that have been there in the bigning of the museums history which was open on 1902.
3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
3. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
The videos are related to the text because some of the videos outs you in a narrative of what I have learned in the the text. Sometimes the text gives examples and explanations of certain art forms and art history of the times. It is hard to relate to some of the art just by reading about it on paper. However, the videos gives you a closer look at what you learn on the text and puts you inside the story of the art. The two videos I saw did just that for me.
4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?
4. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the readings and art concepts?
I loved the two films that I choose. So far, they are the two favorite films that I have seen in this class. The reason being, that both films made me feel like I was there. The made me believe I was some what part of the story within the art. The video about the Cairo Museum sounded boring. Nonetheless, when i saw it I was shocked to see how good it was, They focused on the basement of the museum instead of the actual thing because the basement held so much history and culture. I really enjoyed watching the videos this week. Both, were nice and short and to the point. They also gave more meaning and dept to the readings.

Module Seven Video Review
1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
There were a lot of key concepts that i learned in both videos. In the video called "Classical Architecture," I learned a great deal about classical form of architecture. Something that i found very interesting about this video was learning about English terraces. This is a interesting and funny concept because we all want to live in a palace. What the English terrace did was allow low income people to live on a palace. English terrace, are public buildings that use classical architecture. They look like classical English palaces. However, they are divided into small sections of living. Where, different families can live in a 17 foot 6 inches home. This brings people that are not rich the opportunity to live in a palace like building. Something else that was important that I learned was the arches. I learned that it was the ancient Romans that started to incorporating arches on their structures. This being a concept that the ancient Greeks did not have. In the other video I learned a lot about prairie style architecture. I learned that it was Frank Lloyd Wright that created the prairie style. Frank Lloyd Wright deviated from classical forms of architecture and redesigned the future of modern architecture. Frank Lloyd Wright, prairie style architecture consisted of floating horizontal planes and organic relationships to the nature around its structures. His structures blended in with the nature in order to makes the buildings a part emerging from nature. A difference between his buildings and classical buildings is that his buildings, the rooms emerge into one another. They are not segregated. Living space in open and the door is not straight in the middle but on the sides.
2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
The videos were very helpful because they were not only directly connected to the text but gave us visual examples of what we previously learned. In the readings we learned about architectures like classical and moderns. I understood most of the readings. However, watching the videos gave me a better understanding of the architecture because we saw a moving image of the structures. I understood the concepts more after watching these two videos.
3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of Architecture?
I have different opinions of the films. The first film I watched, "Prairie Style," I was not so excited to watch. The reason I picked it was because it was short. However, after watching it I found out that it was very interesting. I have always been fascinated with classical architecture so it was surprising to find out that prairie style was good too. It was a different approached to building living spaces and structures. The video did a good job in presenting the beauty of prairie style architecture. The video was very upbeat and kept me learning. On the other hand, the second video was a disappointment because I was a fan of classical style. I know that classical style is a little more boring the modern style. Moreover, the video just made it boring and had me zone out of watching. It was only in certain places where I was interesting.
4. From the group of four that you had a choice: Why did you choose that film?
the reason I choose the Prairie Style video was because it sounded interesting. It was something that I had not heard very much of and that i wanted to look at. This video was very short and to the point. The reason i was very excited and picked Classical Architecture was because I love classical buildings. They remind me of Greek mythology. However, the video was about England incorporating classical architecture and that bored me a little.

Art/Making Material Exploration
A. What is installation art?
From what I found out in the videos and in the text book, Installation art is a type of art that transforms the perception of an specific space. This type of art work can be created from any artist.
B. What materials are used installation art?
The funny thing about installation art is that there are no specific materials required. It is not like painting, where you need something to paint with and something to paint on. In installation art you can use anything to transform a space into whatever you want it to be. Like, In the video the artist used metal with the help of engineers to transform a building into an installation piece.
C. Why make installation art?
From what I have leaarned this week there is not an exact reason why artist make installaion art. A reason can be that there are those artist who love to make a big statement. Maybe their not content with a small art piece so they decide to make the whole room an art form. I believe, that other artist make installation art to make other people see what they saw or felt in a room. Installation art is a perfect example of the fact that art can be anything and in anywhere.

D. Which artist/installation did I find most interesting?
My favorate installation artist, so far, is Ricahrd Wilson. He is my favorite because the installation pieces that he creates that are not only artistic but also very funtionable. An installation piece of his that i found very interesting was when he redesign the out side of the Arc Art center in 1999. He turned the whole buildidng into an installation piece. The windows turn in circles and allowed the people to see.
A. From the material reviewed, is there a inspiration piece that I feel a connection with?
The piece I feel a connection with is the Arc Art Center that was created in 1999 by Richard Wilson. the reason I felt a connections was because I like when art work has a function.
B. What theme do I want to explore in my installation? Refer to your textbook if you need to review Themes of Art. (chapter 3 in text)
(Nature, Environment, Self, Mass Media, Consumerism, etc.)
The theme that I would like to explore is environment because I want to create installation art out of the enviroment that I live in on a everyday basics. I will like to use my bed as an istallation art.
C. What materials will I use?
The fun thing about this materia exploration is that I am able to use anything. When creating installation art you dont have to spent money because you can make it out of anything. I am going to use the things that are in my room as the materials of the installation art.
D. Where will this installation be located and why
My intallation art will be located in my room. The reason why my room was because in my room is the place that feel the most created. It, will also be fun to directs someones attention when they come in my room.

Module Six Video Review
1. For each video list/discuss the key concepts you learned.
In the first video "Through the Eyes of the Sculptor" we got to discover the ways in which sculptures are made. The reason the title of the video refers to through the eyes of a sculpture is because we learn thorough the very talented French sculptor Emmanuel Fillion. In the video he gives us a walk through the process of making sculptures. I learned many things about sculptures. One of the things I learned is that sculptures can be made with marble, clay, and lime stone. I also leaned a little more about the way artist restore sculptures that are centuries old. The way they restored sculptures that were part of a bridge in France was by removing the original sculpture from the bridge and placing a geometric shape where the old sculpture was at. Then the artist used the old sculpture as a model to shape the scare block that was place on the bridge. Another interesting thing I learned was that in order to carefully transport sculptures from the workshop to their destination, the artist creates bridges on the parts of the sculpture that are hanging on air. The second video "Glass and Ceramics" was my favorite video of all three because I got to learn about something that was always around me but that I did not know how it was made. Glass and ceramics, are something that we use and deal with every single day. So, it was interesting to see how it was created. The thing that I leaned, that shocked me the most was that glass is not a solid but a solidified liquid. I would have never guess that glass was also made using sand and fire. It was interesting to find out that seashells to make it more solid. making glass is a step by step process. After the artist have given the glass a shape he then puts it back into the fire to make the glass stronger. I have to say the third "Installation Art" video was my least favorite because it dealt with a form of art I was unfamiliar with. With this video I lean what was installation art is a type of arts that takes over a room. According to the video, installation art is a very fashionable and controversial art form that uses three-dimensional shapes to capture the eye of the viewer. When the artist of installation art creates a piece he designs the art to take the viewers attention. Installation art is difficult to do because it is a form of art roughly about 30 years old.
2. How do the videos relate to the readings in the text?
The videos and the textbooks are very related to each other. The reason, being that in the textbooks there were many descriptions about what craft and sculptures were. However, watching the videos gave me a more detailed description of the three concepts. The videos to me were like the second step in the lesson to further understand this weeks teachings. For example in the video i got to see the process in which the artist creates sculptures from the view point of the artist. Where as, the textbook only described the process and we had to comprehend how it was.
3. What is your opinion of the films? How do they add depth to understanding of the topics: Sculpture, Installation, and Craft?
I as very satisfied with all of the videos because from them we got to really understand the art of sculptures, installation art, and craft. I do not think that with the textbook along I was going to be able to grasp these three concepts at the level that I do now. Like I mentioned before my favorite video was "Glass and Ceramics" because I got to understand glass and it was not boring. Nonetheless, the video about installation art was a drag. To say the truth, I was not able to finish the whole thing. The narration of it was boring and that got in the way of me better understanding what installation art really was.

Reviewing Peer Responses to Artwork
1. Hyperlink the Blogs you reviewed into your blog
http://graz01.blogspot.com/
http://aedv200videothoughts.blogspot.com/
2. When looking at Project #1: (Elements and Principles), did you agree with the element or principle the artist listed with the images? Did you see other elements and principles in the images?
I think that looking at both projects I agreed with the element and principles of Jessica more than Graciella. However, they both did a good job. Graciela just needs to put more detail and carefulness into her project. Other than that she would be fine. With Graciell, I did not agree with her movement shot because it was just a girl sitting on the couch. She also had two photos with lines. I also did not see a pattern in her pattern photo. Jessica's picture were amazing. Everyone should check heir's. Her emphasis picture was phenomenal. her line picture surprised me because when I think a a line I think straight line. Nonetheless, on her line picture she job a cricked line on the floor. It is still a line therefore its good.
3. When looking at Project #2: Where there any images in the Peer Blogs the same as your own? If yes, what were they? Where the reasons the image was selected the same or different as your own?
The funny thing about looking at people;s project is that you find out they chose similar thing than you did. Maybe, for the wrong reasons. Jessica Sweet, had the Self-Portrait with monkeys by Frida khalo. I also had the same picture. Nevertheless, the reasons we were attracted to the same art work was different. She picked it because she liked how well defined the monkey looked and how prominent the eyebrows on Frida khalo were. I as attracted to it because I was already familiar not with the painting but ith the artist. Moreover, seeing the reason why she picked it made me realised things i sis not see before. like the monkey.
4. Where there any images that your Peers selected that pique your interest now? If yes, what are they and what is your connection with them? What would you want to know about them?
A piece that Jessica had was Volcano it attracted me because of the abstract way the artist drew the volcano. I believe that I would like to see more art works from this artist to see in what abstract ways does he or she paints other disasters.
5. What do you think about the process of reading your peers reflection? Do you find this to be a valuable in your learning?
The process of reading my peers reflections and projects was helpful. It was a learning experience to see the type of things other people came up with during the same process i had to go through. I felt like i was a art critique. That, made me feel like I understood the concepts and principles of art even more now. The reason being that I got to review other peoples pictures.
6. Check your Blog and read comments posted by your Peers. Do you find their comments helpful?
checking the comments that my peers posted was insulting at first. I feel like they did not know what they were talking about. However after thinking about it i feel better because their comments made me learn more about the art work and about what I did wrong. it also made me feel good when they had positive comments for some of the art work.

The art work that made an impact on me was The Self-Portrait With Monkey by Frida Khalo. The reason this painted impacted me was that I was surprised to see that they had a Frida Khalo painting. She is my favorite artist of all time because she made portraits of her self. They were all different. I knew what she looked like. This painting was also the one that meant a lot to me because of it meaning. I feel a connection to Frida Khalo's Self-Portrait With Monkey because the animals on the painting represent the kids she never was able to have. In my family there are more than one women that struggle having kids. I share their pain because I was there with them. I would like to know more about Seaman's Belt because it is so abstract. It is so colorful and full of movement in my eyes. The painting makes my eyes dance around and I would like to know more about its meaning.

Logo Making Experience
1. Discuss what you thought about creating your logo.
When I first found out that we were going to be making Logo's I was surprised. This was because logos are such a powerful part of our lives and the media today. I immediately, thought that the process would be hard because in the real world people spent huge amounts of time creating and developing a successful logo.
2. Describe the process: creative thinking skills and ideas you used in the logo creation.
The process was difficult at the beginning The reason being, that at first you do not know what exactly it is that your doing. I did not understand if this logo had to represent me or something else. It is difficult to create something that represent you because as one person we are so many things. Therefore, I created a logo for something that was not completely about me. However, I created it of something that I would like to see happening After that first step it was easy to create the logo because the only problems were small and technical.
3. What was the most important discovery you made in the creation of your logo?
The most important discovery i made in making this logo was how creative I actually am. I did not discover this on my own. It was actually my friend who told me after I finished the logo. It was fascinating that my logo is a statue of a women holding flames. When I created this concept I though of the little statues that people get on award shows. So my logo is the logo for the Male Success Awards. I created a beautiful women because to me behind a powerful man is a successful women.
4. What is the most important information you learned from watching the videos, powerpoint, and reading material for this project? What is your opinion of the videos?
From the powerpoint, reading materials, and the video I gain many insight on the importance of logos and how they play into our lives. I learn in basic forms how people create logos and how important it is to know your audience. if you do not know your audience then the massage conveyed through the logo will not reach the audience.
